There are some very different clutch designs available in the modern motor vehicle or SUV. Common in the late model vehicles are a Dual Mass Flywheel clutch, These are a great thing for low driveline noise and for a nice smooth clutch release, the down side is they can be costly to replace. In some cases there may be a solid mass conversion kit available to replace the dual mass, and in the majority of applications they are cheaper to replace and then the subsequent clutch replacement becomes a more economical situation.
